Three AI stories this week, plus a deep dive that matters to anyone who works with drawings. I made a 7-minute video for YouTube 👇

This week:
・26 Oct: Anthropic, the maker of Claude, filed its S-1 for a Nasdaq listing under the ticker ANT. Reports put first-half revenue at $16.3bn and the net loss at $80.7bn, but about $72.4bn of that is a fair-value accounting change; the operating loss was $693m (disclosure: I use and teach Claude every day)
・26 Oct: GXO is taking Agility's Digit humanoid robots to two more US warehouses from early 2027, after Digit moved over 100,000 totes. A repeat customer says more than a demo video, though neither company gave unit numbers or the contract value
・29 Oct: France's Mistral released the open weights of Mistral Large 4, a trillion-parameter model aimed at coding and cyber defence
Deep dive: OpenAI's GPT-6.1 Terra
Fast, cheap, good at reading images and using a computer. API pricing is $1 in and $5 out per million tokens, which OpenAI says is half the previous price. What caught my eye: one of the tasks OpenAI tests it on is turning architectural drawings into a 3D model.
Deep dive: OpenAI's GPT-6.1 Terra Fast, cheap, good at reading images and using a computer.
But read it carefully. OpenAI publishes no score for that task, every score is its own, and the independent Vals AI index ranks it around tenth. It is available in the UK (paid ChatGPT plans in Work and Codex, or the API), while Hong Kong is not on OpenAI's supported-countries list.
If I were to try it, I would start small: a PDF floor plan, a list of rooms and areas, and every number checked by hand. Cheaper AI does not move the responsibility onto the AI.
